If the Postsaver sleeve is torn or damaged then its effectiveness may be reduced |
| • |
When installing the Post 50mm (2”) must be left above ground level. Installation must be such that water cannot pool around the top of the post above the top edge of the sleeve |
| • |
If the bottom of the post is cut off then at least 200mm of preservative treated timber must be left below the bottom edge of the sleeve. Any cut ends or damage to the exposed timber of the in ground section of the post or pole must be treated with a suitable preservative. |
| • |
At least 275mm of sleeve must be left below ground level (75mm maximum above ground level) |
| • |
Whilst the Postsaver sleeve system is very tough care must be taken to avoid damaging or holing the sleeve when handling or installing a Postsaver sleeved post |
| • |
Postsaver sleeved posts are suitable for driving in place. In very stony or made up ground drive a post in, extract and then check sleeve for damage. Tearing or damage to the outer sleeve will have limited, if any, effect on performance provided the surface of the timber remains sealed by the bituminous coating. |
